Handmade accessories from vintage and up-cycled haberdashery, wool, leather, fabric, cardboard tubes and costume jewellery.

My childhood dream was to run a haberdashery shop. The colours of sewing threads and knitting yarns were so tempting. The fabrics were works of art.

In the 1980s I went to Leicester Polytechnic (now DMU) for my Foundation year. Then on to Newport in South Wales for my BA(Hons) Fine Art specialising in 16mm film and photography.

I taught myself to knit while helping to care for my wonderful Grandma. Since 2014, after two days learning the basics of leatherwork I upcycle old leather clothes into bags. Vintage needlepoint also makes great bags. I work on a commission basis.

EVERYTHING I make uses items which would otherwise be forgotten about, thrown away or is an offcut. Some items have been donated to me by kind people I have met through Art House. I work under two names: RabbitDashery for the accessories I make, it comes from my love of all things bunny and haberdashery and Pangloss-5 the clothes label I started as a teenager after reading Voltaire’s Candide.
